Develop original designs and styles for a wide variety of visual products for the White House and the components of the Executive Office of the President (EOP), including complex, high-profile, and sensitive publications.
Manage multiple projects and deliver proofs and final products within strict time limitations.
Analyze time and resource restraints to set priorities, monitor progress and formulate schedules. Adapt to the demand of continuously evolving situations.
Report status of projects on a daily basis and evaluate outcomes with supervisors.
Organize and transform information into attractive design solutions that meet or exceed client expectations. Formulate concepts, design drafts, and provide multiple layouts to customers for review and approval. Ensure that typographical and design elements create cohesive visual solutions that enhance communication.
Mentor and collaborate with other team members by sharing my expertise in Adobe Creative Suite graphic design software such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Create visually stimulating materials for special White House events. Illustrate, develop and write the White House Easter Egg Coloring & Activity Book and Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day Activity Book for children’s events on the South Lawn.
Generate web banners for use on EOP intranet and whitehouse.gov.
Fabricate infographics for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, coordinating with their staff to identify the key factors requiring interpretation.
Design posters with a broad visual appeal to be placed in locations throughout campus ; output final materials on a large format printer. Mount on foam core with a vacuum press and trim with strict attention to detail. Examples include the White House Health and Wellness series and the Employee Equal Opportunity posters.
Compose and lay out publications and reports, usually under tight time schedules. Work closely with clients throughout editing process.
Initiate signage and exhibit design for events attended by the Office of Administration (approximately 200 people). Volunteered to help coordinate with others on a team to plan effective events.
Formulate the design for the West Wing Visitor’s Guide as well as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building Visitor’s Guide. Work closely with the photographer; attend photo shoots.
Prepare files for printing; coordinate print production on quality control to avoid errors during production. Check and correct color proofs.
Build, organize and maintain shared templates and graphic elements. Regularly update servers with new files. Maintain a file management system by inputting updates daily.
Regularly work directly and indirectly with a wide variety of White House staff members, from senior administration officials to interns. Use communication skills to fully comprehend each customer specific requirements, set client expectations, and clarify project direction.
